General question for those that have dealt with injured elapids (Barry?). This little fella was rescued from a worksite, very dehydrated and in poor condition with this big chunk missing out of him.
Thanks to the tender ministrations of the local vet, she got him all cleaned up, antibiotics and now in care. My question is, at what point is he ready for release? Once he has gained condition, eating and pooping well, irrespective of the injury (assumes the injury will be that much better by the time he has gained some serious pud:lol? Or not release until he has his scales back - one would assume several sheds. He is only about 4 and a half foot long, so nowhere near full adult size, teenytiny head compared to other full grown browns, so I would assume he is only a few years old at best.
Your thoughts?
