Hi all, well everyone seems to love an ID thread so here we go :)

I just turned up this little fella while looking for grubs, I seem to find them fairly often in the garden. Sometimes they are jet black with dark red or orange bellies (and yes they have legs :p)

Ive been looking through my field guide book (That I really dont know how to use properly yet) and have found a million that look like it but not noticed the one that is right!
So any help would be great :)
Oh BTW I have released it after I took the pic.

Adam

oh what scientific name they called now?? the scientific names are sometimes changed as more is learnt about species and they get reclassified

I have the "Complete field guide to Reptiles of Australia" and it is listed on page 288 :) I just overlooked it after viewing 8 million other skink pictures :D
