As we are West Australians, and have never seen the lizard below before, could someone please identify and let me know its correct title? Taken 44 ks south of Townsville. Queensland. Thankyou:D

it is a lace monitor . bells phase (broad banded)

South of Townsville? Where abouts? Alligator Creek area or more south? Just curious, nice pics.:D
 
That makes for a range extension of several hundred km for the Bells Phase !!!!!

We are at Mountain View Lake Caravan Park. Peaceful, and full of wildlife!
 
Thankyou everyone for answering, we are slowly learning more about the 'true' Aussies, might have left it a bit late...but better now than never.:oops:
 
Yes, it is my photograph, taken about 100 metres from our Caravan. Am off to climb a mountainous hill with two other women today...with camera!
