My 3 year old dwarf beardie (who we thought was a boy, apparently not!) has just laid 12 eggs! She has been kept by herself for the past 12 months but before that was kept with a male and female Central Netted. Has anyone ever had a beardie lay unfertilised eggs? Or is there a chance she has retained sperm from possible mating last year? My mind has been blown!

We've put them back in the nest and hopefully they'll hatch if they're viable.

P.s. as you can see, one of the eggs is broken

They would be slugs. Females can still produce and lay unfertilized eggs without being with a male.

Cool, that's what I thought but I didn't know it for sure so was really surprised. Thankyou!

My group of wsterdragons do this 2 clutches each per season since my old male passed away a few years back, must find them a nice male again
