I'm looking at IR gun thermometers on the Total Tools web site and they run the gamut, from $50, to over $700. I'm liking the sound of $50. Is it necessary to spend more than $50 to get a reliable piece of kit? The $50 option is a Detroit brand (probably doesn't mean anything), next up would be a Stanley for about $100, then next up is about $120 (brand arbitrary).

Any warnings against spending $50, or all good?

    Cheers
    Ant

I like the look of $10 even more... Price is obviously not a factor then. Thanks for that.
