Yeah in NSW we only have to provide a suburb which is good. However, when applying for import/export permits, the full address of buyer/seller is required - which creates a risk that your details can be given out.

The authorities in each state should realise that giving full details is fraught with danger and that they need to come up with a better/safer system. Realistically full name, suburb and licence number should be more than enough IMO...
 
I've said this a million times. It's a two-way street. It's not just the breeders who need protection, it's the customers also. The last thing someone needs is a dodgy animal sold to them for $2k+ and the crap hits the fan for whatever reason and the person they purchased it off is untraceable. We all know how much the cops care about stolen snakes, never mind about one dying because of an illness etc. It's just another avenue people can use to rip others off. Personally I think transparency is fine in its current scenario.

What people really need is a Paypal for snakes where there is a third party involved with details etc etc...but even that sounds messy.
