Hi all:

Was wondering if i can use the coco fibre that i already had mixed for my mum's hermit crabs. The fibre was mixed using "sea water" mixture of dechlorinated water and crab salt. The fibre is NOT wet - it has dried.

Would it be okay to use it in my jungle jags tank as substrate - he's getting ready to go into a shed.....

thanks for any help

cheers

I wouldn't, salt can be very drying and I'm sure it won't help with his shed.

I don't think it will cause a problem, I would be sure mangrove snakes deal with it in the wild.

I agree its best to not to use it combined with the moisture adsorption capabilities of coco peat and salt it would be to risky IMO for a Morelia. At $3/brick from Bunnings just get a new one and throw the old out. Or better yet try hemp or aspen shavings (not chips) as they are both great ;)

Your jungle jag is worth how much?
New substrate is worth how much?
Risk is larger than zero

Easy answer I reckon
