They would be pretty easy to keep in captivity if you can supply the food, much easier to leave them in the garden IMO.

I bred a couple of generations of two or three species. Lots of fun, very cool critters! Easier to leave them in the garden, but doing nothing is always the easy option, including keeping snakes vs. never giving a snake a second look
