Hi Robbo,

Are you in Sydney, and can you make ones big enough for fluoro's.
Does gal give of vapours if heated by the heat globes?

no i live in melbourne
but yes i could make them big enough to cover fluros
as for gal giving of vapours i have not heard of it , mabey someone else knows
but most of the ones i have seen that you can buy have been made from gal or have gal in them

if u burn gal it gives off fumes which r hazardus to your health u end up with gal poisioning..welding/oxy cutting
in saying this a light bulb would be hot enough to melt the gal..
could an u make these from stainless obviousely dearer but much better.

Gal only gives off those fumes from burning. A light globe would get nowhere near hot enough to cause a problem. All my heat guards are Galvanised.

Can you access the globes while they are inside the cages?
Or do you need to unscrew them from the wall/roof to gain access?

at the moment they have to be unscrewd from the enclosure
but the next ones i make access will be from the bottom

merlot - it costs about $10 for postage for one cover yes i do have a few made up as stock at the moment but could make up another colour if thats what you where after

Im a welder and i agree a heat lamp gets nowhere near as hot.
