    The bright globe mimics the sun. That way when you turn it off your panoptes knows it's night time.

    What the hell is that???? It absoultely gorgeous! I think I prefer this over Varanus prasinus! Now that is saying a lot since up to this point prasinus was my fav native!

    She's a Perth locale Black Headed Monitor (Varanus tristis tristis). The adults are almost pure black over here. I believe they evolved their dark colouring in order to more efficiently absorb the heat from the sun's rays. She's a beauty and settling in well, showing a bit more of herself everyday.
