my new snake is acting weird

so henrys finally over at my place still haven't got him food, planning on today or tomorrow, but I've noticed when i put him in the cage his head was staying quite high up and was swinging all over the place he calmed down then he stayed still for quite some time and is barely moving he isn't in his hide and just in the open. is he too cold or too Hungary? is this something to worry about, also due to the height of the cage i dont think the 100w heat lamp i bought was strong enough although this is a ceramic, ( which i think gives more of area heat than direct). although i dont have an accurate heat gun or thermometer to test, it doesn't feel warm should i get a different kind of bulb or stronger wattage. thanks - concerned snake owner
