i have a coastal carpet python

Have a largeish tank, 60Dx108Hx90W(cm)

just recently bought a 150w ceramic recommended by the "reptile manager" he said it should be good.

tested it at home (sits in top left corner of tank), and it was about 36C (after 30 minutes) at the top of branch that goes across tank. is this ok? too hot?
if its too hot, should i get a lower wattage or what?

also, what should i use as a cage for the lamp? wouldnt mesh get hot to the touch?

Thanks guys,
:]

36 degrees is too hot; I would think 100w should do the job. While the mesh does get hot, it doesn't get as hot as the CHE. We used mesh cages for CHE's with our pythons with no issues.
