Well I live in cairns and It gets 31 degrees in wet season so is that warm enough or should I get a heat mat

maybe go on to google and search how to care for australian geckos and that should give you a list of aussie geckos u can keep and what they require.

Mate, what you need to be before anything else is to buy books on how to keep geckos and learn. If there is something specific you don't understand, ask here. Then, take a good look at the Qld NPWS web site and read that you can keep and what you can't and understand the conditions that apply to Licence to keep native reptiles.
Forget about permit to take from the wild unless you are a scientist attached to some research establishment.

It gets up to 36 degrees here.
