Hmmm. Aren't you from QLD? If so, got a specialist license? Cannot keep
elapids on a rec. license up here, so no moon snakes, unless you have
one.

I don't know what people on the eastern side of australia call a moonsnake - but the only thing I know of in Australia. is "Furina ornata"
I have spotted this snake many times throughout W.A
It is a small, nocturnal elapid which feeds on skinks. Although venomous it is harmless & the wild individuals I have encountered rarely attempt to bite.

But maybe this is not the animal in this topic - I don't know - common names can be very confusing sometimes! :?: :?: :?:

No elapids on the QLD licence Snarf?
I remember when I was still one a Class one that there were some elapids allowed. Not many.
I had to look up moonsnake...not a snake that I have heard much about.
It says they are skink eaters. They can be a pain in the ****, Sarah. Unless you want to go out catching skinks once a week they can be very fussy eaters...of course there are always exceptions.

they do grow fast lutzd.
what was your feeding schedule for him/her?

No elapids on rec license in QLD. Seemingly before they restricted specific 'dangerous' species in the past but these days are over. If you look at your QLD rec license it now expressly prohibits the keeping of any member of families elapidae, laticaudidae and hydrophiidae, sadly enough.

size

Fangs, I usually feed them large prey about once a fortnight, or a little more frequently if I only have small prey.

we know about the licences and as for skink feeding they'll be andrews snakes(my husband) so he can run around the garden.........

oh my they do grow fast

hi sarah
its funny i have always liked my snakes
and the wife hated them
now huh
shees the one makin all the planes about what we are goin too get and i'm not even gunna get a look in
isn't life funny
sc

yes it is funny how things work out when i got my first snake my husbands theory was the only good snake is a dead snake and threatened to kill it several times now hes the same as your wife but im a lot happier this way

So there seems to be hope for me yet :) My missus hates 'em :( Good way to get some peace though as she disappears every time an enclosure is opened :)
Indeed it is an ill wind that blows no good :)

Is moonsnaking what STP is doing at popps house in the best looking member photo comp?

It think it is Magpie...
...but a strange entry for the 'best looking member' category, as all we can see is his rear end ??? go figure???

Considering the difference - or lack there of - between his face and rear end, perhaps it is not so strange afterall.
