Hi all,
Would love to find out what this is. I know it's a dragon of some sort.
He looks exactly like the Two-Lined Dragon in my reptile book, but they are suposed to only occur in the far north of the Northern Territory.
I found him in my backyard in Jimboomba, south of Brisbane.
We get plenty of Beardies in our yard, but this is the first time I've seen one of these.
Thanks Phill

Everyone is right. It is D.australis, common name Tommy Roundhead or Eastern Two Lined Dragon. They are quite common in outer suburban back yards around Brisbane, Their range is from just South of Townsville all the way thrrough into Northern NSW. Most of the Diporiphora complex are two lined dragons. The species Phils dragons could be have been referring to from his book is likely D. bilineata which is the Northern Two lIned
