Mate Try Aussie Reptiles Thermos, I think they go up to 50. Try Animal Attraction website or Reptiles Direct on ebay. Haven't used one though so not sure how they perform.
 
why do you need to go up to 40 degrees? what are you keeping?

They actually go up to around 60C, I have found them to be excellent although i remember reading a post where someone said they couldnt get stable temps although that may have been their fault rather than the thermostat.

The cheaper model (AC110) with the dial is very fiddly to set to an exact temperature. I have used them to incubate quails, reptiles and also regulate lizard basking temperatures without any problems.

I would reccomend they more expensive model with the digital display.
