Hi there,

Newbie here looking to get my first lizard. I live on the 2nd floor of a poorly insulated apartment in Melbourne. Usually the room temp is about 7-8 degrees warmer than outside.

I'm thinking about getting a bearded dragon or a gecko but I understand they need a cool spot in the tank of around 24C. When my room usually sits around 28-30C during the summer days is it going to be possible to keep them?

Thanks

I have the same issue sometimes in my own house, on those really hot days i make sure they've got a bowl of water they can swim in and i try and cool the room down with a portable AC i have. Beardies will gape when they get to hot to help cool their bodies down. I personally think you'll be fine. :)

Thanks!

but what about geckos? I would really like to get an Oedura marmorata.
