hey all, just a quick question about how hot the surface temp can be in my coastals enclosure, ive just finished setting up a new enclosure for him and it is quite tall. I'm happy with the ambient temperatures i'm getting ive got a nice gradient only thing that concern's me is that i have a shelf which has one of the heat lamps mounted underneath it, the surace temp of the shelf is pushing to about 45 degree's. the temp about 1 or 2 cm above is around 33 degree's, so should i be spacing the lamp more or is this going to be alright, any help would be great

thanks

its a 150w ceramic but i have swapped it with a 100w and the actual surface temp of the shelf barely changes but the ambient temp drops bit too much, the lamp holder only has a piece of cement sheeting between it and the underside of the shelf soo maybe i just need to put some spacers between the cement sheeting and the shelf
