Currently a scorching 37 degrees here and not a cloud in the sky or a breath of a breeze at all. Just stepped out the front to see a large Green tree frog had vacated her downpipe and had taken a soak in a birdbath and is now hunkered down in the shade on the cool stones in the wife's succulent garden patch.

Poor little bugger, going to be even hotter tomorrow and Saturday. Might bring her inside into the aircon. :D

He's cute! Wish my gtf had those colours..
About an hour ago once darkness had fallen, I decided to try tong feeding it some woodies... I collected 8 from my woody bin, it ate them all, I got another 6, it ate them all... I got another 6 + a large green katydid off the wall by the patio lights, it ate them all so I went back and got another 8 woodies and it had 6 of them and wanted no more. It's got a nice full round look to it now. Lol 26 woodies. Ah well, it is the season to pig out!

Just stepped out to see if she's made off into the darkness somewhere and no, she's quite content sitting in the birdbath now. Haha. I have my own pet GTF's but it's just as satisfying taking care of a wild one.

[doublepost=1545425117,1545303110][/doublepost]Frog update. Yesterday morning at 5am I noticed my resident wild female GTF had decided to hang around her new location and had attempted to hide away remaining close to the bird bath during this stretch of hot days we're having.

I thought to myself, she's going to be baking in the full sun by 7am if she stays there so knowing she's going to be looking to move downwards in the next couple of hours, I grabbed a small terracotta pot from the lawn locker and made a little hide available for her to utilise near where I spotted her on the stones a couple of days ago.

By 7:30am, the sun was high and it was heating up, I went out to check on her and she'd taken me up on my offer. :)

I tong fed her another 12 woodies last night during the evening storm we had and she's still hunkered down there this morning. Happy little camper. <3 Frogs <3

A very full tummy. Probably the best feed she's had in a while. A bit of cool change coming through today, maybe she'll head off back into the down pipes, hopefully she sticks around a while longer. :D

I've got two confirmed green tree frogs in my area, both males, apparently, since they refuse to get it on. One lives in the neighbor's yard, and my one--little ingrate that he is--likes to spend his evenings in the dog's kiddie pool instead of in the actual frog pond.
