Transfer Woodies

Hey,
Was wondering if anyone has any tips to transfer woodies over from one container to another the one they in now is over a year old and starting to smell.

Also i remember reading somewhere to put some sort of worm or insect that will eat all the woodies crap anyone know what they called

We have 2 identical tubs,lift the egg cartons from the old to the new.Most of the woodies will go with them, put some new cartons into the old ,wait an hour and repeat. Do this a couple of times and most of your woodies will be in the new tub.
I have chickens so I feed the old tub to them.

It’s a slow and crappy process but I’ve not come across any other way. And you will always lose a bunch.
