Unidentified lump on Mountain Dragon

Hi all, this is actually a wild Mountain Dragon I saw in Tassie in January. Ever since I took this photo, I have been wondering what this growth / lump on his neck area is. Thanks.

That is a tick. By the time it is fully engorged it will be several times larger and its skin will be stretched smooth and bluish grey from the blood inside its body.
