Varanus pilbarensis photo

I thought i'd post a pic of a species not many people get to see, due to its relatively small distribution and presumably elusive habits.

It's a pretty bad pic of a pretty ugly individual (compared to others), but lighting wasn't desirable. Taken in summer 2005 in ze Pilbara region (duh).

This fella was in Davies gorge at Karinjini NP.

How big do these guys get?

Tiny.
Total length is quoted as 47cm in wilson and Swan, but 2/3 of that is tail.

i love pilbarensis although i have never been graced with ones presence i still think theyre awesome just from stories and and pictures
