My sister has a 6 month old water dragon... it is very small and does not appear to be growing, shakes sometimes and has recently lost a toe. It feeds well although is a fussy eater. She gives it regular vitamins, the enclosure is kept clean and warm.

Does anyone know what could be the problem??

It is still very small so is kept in a 2 foot tank and is kept at around 30 degrees

Does it have UV?

Cheers Alex

does it get calcium power with its vitamins?

the UV wont do anything unless the lizard can get within about 8inches. even then it's not much UV. If you can take him outside for about 30mins a day it will help a lot.

He's within 8 inches of the light as it's just an ordinary 2 foot fish tank.
and i think she takes him out into the sun every day, im not sure... ill have to get back to ya on that one...

It is quite normal for this time of the year to be just laying around for a juv water dragon. Make sure you have a good spotlight that heats up one end of the tank to 32 degrees or so and the other end a bit cooler. Reduce stress as much as you can like handling it, taking it in and outside etc. Decide if you are going to house it in or outside for a while. But seen the situation it is best to keep it inside IMO. Once he/she starts to look better set it up outside if you can.
