    G'day Phatty,

It depends if you want to concentrate on monitors, or want a book on all lizards in captivity. Keeping and Breeding Australian Lizards represents great value as it combines all of the different families of lizards into one title. Guide to Australian Monitors in Captivity is the most current title pertaining to Australian monitors.

Another title to consider is one out of Germany (but in English) titled "Monitor Lizards - Natural History, Captive Care and Breeding". The German's are years ahead in terms of breeding varanids and this title is a must for anyone interested in keeping goannas.

I'm not sure if Danny's book is out yet? It's apparently going to be incredibly detailed, I'm looking forward to it. Although it's going to have a price tag to match!

There is a lot more in the big book than the smaller family based books, more text, more photos, more information
