Looking through the photos people put up on threads got me thinking what cameras people are using, there are some really good clear photos of snakes, my camera and my phone blur when I take pics of my snakes I think I need an upgrade, feel free to post a photo of your snake along with the type of camera you use :)

Just a basic point and shoot that doesn't do as good macro shots as the previous one before it did, it has crap anti-shake ability and a poor sensor compared to the older model of it's line we had before it.
On the side I have a Pentax Kx digital SLR that I've been slowly gathering equipment for, need to relearn about apeture etc again to get the most out of it like my wife and I used to with our Canon Eos 3000 about 10 years ago.

I use an old (now) Nikon D80 which I bought maybe 8yrs ago...maybe longer. It's only 10.2 megapixel & not as flash as some of the new stuff out there, but I get good results (I think)...my flash lets me down in poor light though. Get a good flash ;)

It's more about composition & focus than anything else. Nobody wants to see dodgy carpet, ruffled newspaper covered in crap or dirty fingernails

I use cannon eos 1100D very simple beginner DLSR camera that most people should be able to use. I will be getting a model that's between 10 and 70 which any of those body's would be fantastic to use. I use 18-58 mm lens for the majority as well as a 75mm-300mm for large animals that are a fair whack away (say up to 50m). As a macro lens and speedlite set up would be great for close ups, sadly I don't own either :(

Those are really good pics, I want to get a good dslr camera or even anything that's better than my current coolpix because I can't change any of the settings on it therefore taking photos of my snakes blur :(

They are good photos, I just bought myself a Canon 1100D, one of the reasons in picking this particular camera is because it's one of the only few dslrs to have video recording as well :) so it will be good to learn to use it properly for photographing my snakes
