What kind of lizard do i have.

Either Egernia striolata or mcpheei. You are not allowed to catch reptiles from the wild and keep them.

Other than striolata beeing loads more common how do you tell?

There is a number of indicators that a difficult to quantify however the shape of the snout is different.
