I'm curious... I can see threads on here that date back to early 2003.

But when exactly did the APS forum begin?

Cheers

I think it was the 23rd of January 2003.
Correct me if I'm wrong (someone that may know better).

It was founded April 16 1893.
You can see it written above the front door...

We started in 2001 as a NineMSN community. In mid 2002 we moved to a our own domain at aussiepythons.com.

Thanks for that! Interesting to hear when it all began.

The forum was a crucial source of information and a big factor in my returning to the hobby in 2012, after many years without reptiles. I can only imagine how many others have had similar experiences with APS over the last 13 years. :)

Thanks Hannaz. It's good to know that APS was instrumental in your return to herps. I'm sure that it's fostered the interest of a lot of reptile keepers over the years.

Re: the start date, I stand corrected. Thanks Adam, I didn't know that.
I was basing my answer on the join date of the very first members...like yourself, Slatey, Lutzy and Afro. I remember in the old days, in order to join the site, you had to have a brief chat with David on the phone first. :)

Lutzy was one of our first moderator. He was fair and mature in his decisions. Good man.
