Hi,

Tonight while traveling home (near Clermont QLD) the kids and I stopped to let this BHP cross the road and to take some pics... We stayed a good few metres back and noticed the snake was 'tapping' it's chin/head on the ground, then it would move a little further, then stop and tap/bob.... about 10 or so times and move and so on. (it was moving quite slowly)

Never seen it before... Can anyone tell me if this is the snake getting anxious because of us? Or something else?

I've added some REALLY crappy pics just because. :)

Did the head tapping coincide with tongue flicking? This can be more noticeable if they are scared of you being there.

Wasn't close enough to see the tongue cement :) That's why the pics are crappy, very zoomed :D And none of the 4 kids would get any closer for me!! LOL
