I had been hoping for a seasonal break from pesky wild carpets after my birds but not yet, just removed this 2m plus intruder trying to get at my black cockies. I'm in Mt Tamborine area and the nights are already cold but the local carpets are still trying to feed? This one was obviously well fed too for a wild snake, must have been eating something recently.IMG_4195.jpg

20 years ago on a very cold day in July (strong westerly blowing), my brother who lived in a suburb called Camp Hill rang me. It was 4.30pm in the afternoon and he wanted to know what to do with the very large carpet swallowing a Brush tailed possum outside his window. I told him that'll make his roof smell nice in a few weeks.
They certainly do eat over winter in seqld.

My local carpets have gone awol in the last month or so though. Just as well, I was getting tired of skarfing them up on mice that i produce.
