Hi from Sunshine Coast, Queensland.
A newbie breeder of a stunning pair of woma pythons.

Ok, funny story. Whilst cleaning the woma enclosure 3 months ago I left the door open and the female escaped, disappeared, gone! I had countless people searching, facebooked, letterboxdrops, snakecatchers .... you name it.
THEN, found her, spare room closet, curled in a ball, 2 and a half months later .... woo hoo! I know, amazing right!

Question - she was paired up with a male before the escape. Numerous connections made and everything looking fantastic for a successful breeding year. THEN she disappeared. I havent put them together again since, thinking my window was gone... BUT, she's now showing signs of being gravid (turned upside down).

Is it possible she's STORED sperm over those months? Can womas do that?

Thanks!!!

yeah mate snakes can lay fertile clutches without being paired to males by holding onto sperm from the previous year. A few months is no problem.
