I bought a flood light pack from bunnings, if I were to use a ceramic globe in it. Would it melt around it where it is screwed in?

More than likely yes, they melt a bit with the flood light globe that is usual supplied with then

I've bought $10 bunnings twin floodlights fittings and the plastic stinks out the enclosure big time. I stripped the plastic off and just used the ceramic batten fitting. Cheapest ceramic fitting ever.
