Can Anyone give me some advice on keeping Whip Snakes
I was looking at them and something about them sparked an interest
Any and ALL information is welcomed

there pretty little snakes, i rescued a real nice one early this year.
i spoke to alady whos kids had one as a pet,she had no idea they where venomous,
and can give a painful sting LOL
it never bit her kids though

During the floods of Newie, (I live in Raymond Terrace)
the paddock behind my house flooded terribly
I was racing from my Backyard with a Big Red neck saving
over 60 grass Skinks one looked like a minature monitor,
a She oak skink
and 5 whip snakes
I released them all once the Raining had stopped
But the Whip Snakes were incredible, 2 were about 15cm and 3 were 30cm give or take
They were Extremely placid and didnt mind being handled,
I am really keen to get some to keep as pets

Sorry, On doing research i have discovered the snakes i rescued weren't Whips
They were infact
Black Bellied Swamp or Marsh Snakes

i know that whip snakes are highly active snakes, they bask in the sun and slither around all the time. which basically means they are like tree snakes, (need feed quite offten) . i have seen a few a boy they are awsome.
a cage should be at least 70cm for 1-2 adults, but will be fine 4ft tanks.
the temprature at the middle of the tank should be around 24-28*C
they are terrestrial.
major food sauce is skinks and frogs. some people have weaned them onto mice though. i reakon feeding should be every 5-7 days.
they are EXTREMELY hardy in captivity
this species is egg laying, producing 3-9 eggs in summer following winter cooling. sex may be determind by tail shape or probing. (can't tell you tail shape as i have only been told that)

hope this can help you.

Cheers,

Luke
