Hey all,

I may have to change my username from falconboy to holdenboy, but I'm thinking a VY Berlina wagon 5.7L would more be to my liking. I'm after a wagon and unfortunately the best Ford does is a 6cyl Futura - not exactly exciting.

Anyway, wondering if anyone owns a VY Berlina 5.7 wagon and what you think of it? Any problems?

No and why would you I had a EF 6cyl. We camed and chipped it and it killed the dunnydoor 5.7l piles of crap the holdens 5.7 is rubbish your going to be disappointed when you get one

Just heard on the news that rego prices amongst many other prices of things are going to soar....
600 for a 4cyl, 800 for a 6cyl, 1000 for a 8cyl and more on top of those prices if they are utes, go figure so tha will also mean tradies are going to cop it big with rego rises, fuel rises and god only knows what else

I have owned so many holdens in my life and then when I met my misses and she had an EF, now I no exactly what I was missing for so many years. So no I'm not just you average ford nut thanks
All my Mate also have holdens and boy are they slow but hay go get one and you can see for you self;)
I now drive a BA falcon and love it

Yep, my last Holden was a VR Berlina and yes, it was a load of rubbish and only 3 years old at the time. Nice car to drive and comfy, but needed to be booked in for repairs 13 times in 12 months. I promised myself I wouldn't buy a Holden again, but in wagons Fords are so boring I'm reconsidering. Surely they've got it right by now? Maybe a BF Futura and replace seats with leather and a few basic engine mods......

I own a Commodore.
Am a member of a Commodore club.
Spend a fortune doing up a Commodore.
Soon to race a Commodore.
And even though thats the case, I will still admit Ford is better.

I don't own a 5.7 VY, have driven plenty though and stock standard I was not impressed hey.
I have driven just about all the hypo model Commies and none have impressed me really. I wish I had bought a BA-BF XR6T wagon.

Not a chance of that mate. They haven't done XR6 in a wagon since the EF in 1994. And no V8 wagons since the AU in a Fairmont. There are a few modified wagons around, but no stock performance models.

Yer that dose sux for the people who want a sport wagon or a V8 wagon:(

Lewy come race my mates monaro! 500hp and 720Nm at the wheels! 6th fastest monaro in australia around bathurst!

Why do you want to buy a wagon sedan anyway  doesn't matter if it a ford or a Holden, it's still a nerdy car ;), get a dual cab ute.

my sister has a vy berlina sedan. hasn't got much balls for a 5.7 but they have a luxury gearbox instead of a sports gear box like the SS my sisters old vx wold rip this vy in a race all day everyday

I think it's funny everyone compairs it in race terms?? maybe FB doesn't plan on street racing?? does a cars speed make it any better?

Meh, All dual cabs have IFS, except for old ones! IFS = crap off road! What you need is one of these
