Then there is all the fish, wood beetles, flies & what comes with flies, crickets, rats, mice and the Black Lab/dog, Missy..... etc.

Welcome, Your colllection is lovely(so's your wish list) you will find many friendly helpful people here.
My collection = eeerrrr 2x coastal hatchlings on hold LOL
my wish list is to have an albino coastal or darwin, a GTP(maybe), an Olive and many more....
Kind regards
Crystal

Hey girls nice to hear from you.
Cheers.
I think there is a Green Tree Python and an Albino on most peoples wish lists! Hehe.
I know what you mean about more space! Land would be ultimate. A farm. Or acreage. Room for more =]
The dream is to own a wildlife/reptile/amphibian park. But it's just a $$$ issue. Hopefully one day!
Away from from reps there is these really cool little things at Ballarat Wildlife Park I fell in love with.... I think they are called Quolls? I dunno. But they are spotty and adoreable and I want multiple running around my backyard. It would be awesome.
Also HUGE push to go there [Ballarat WP] if you live in/you'r ever in VIC! You'll love it. Promise.

Hi, Not sure who my favourite is but possibly the Darwin boy Smij but I love them all equally, even the ones that don't like handling.
My collection:
1 x female Eastern Water Dragon - Rogue, not very handleable
2 X Gippsland Water Dragon Juvies as yet unnamed, one eats from my hand other runs
2 x Spotted pythons -female Cloak and male Dagger, not handleable but pretty to watch
2 x Uluru Womas - female Squiggle male Giggle, boy is very placid, haven't handled the girl yet
1 x het Darwin - male Smij, very placid and handleable
1 x Central Bearded Dragon - male Ghedorah, likes to puff up and act tough but is coming around, female coming next week
2 x Central Netted Dragons (my sons) - as yet unnamed, tolerate a little handling, are getting better
1 x Albino Darwin python on hold - female, apparently a lovely placid girl
1 cat - male Killda Catty (elmer fudd style)
2 x Jack Russell x - Piglet (female), Puppy (male), psycho dogs
1 x Bull Mastiff x Bull Arab - male Kaeleb, gentle giant but a bit narky with other big dogs and undesirables
1 x Siamese Fighting Fish - Hank
2 x Budgies - the Birds, very talkative and like to show off but don't like being touched
1 x rat Girly, likes the protection of her cage but doesn't bite

Next season I will be trying for a striped Darwin Het, Ridgetailed monitors (or possibly something a bit larger), Boyds, a Frilly, a rough scaled python and a green tree python and a male Eastern Water Dragon, some high red womas and a bigger house.

Oh, and I have a 16 year old son who used to handle ok but is getting worse with age.

I want to hear about small collections too! From 1-1000- Keep em coming.
Thanx for piping in Kaotikjezta =]
Very nice collection you have there. Bit of jealousy here and there though, mainly with the Netteds and Womas.
How do you find the Gippslands compared to the Easterns? Besides your Eastern not being too handleable.
Love the Rough Scaled Pythons!! I want them too. N' more monitors of [almost] any type.
The thing about your son made me laugh.
My Dad keeps a lot of birds. He'll be my bird man if/when I have a park. It was hilarious the other day talking about it actually. Haha saying we'll be like Steve and Bindi. But not so much at the same time =p He has frogs and a Stumpy too.

Hey Tara Leigh.

I'm 28, from the Central Coast in NSW and live with my husband. I am very new to the site and to having reptiles too, but my god, it is so addictive already!

We just got our very first snake last week. He is a spotted python named Eddie. He is named after the Iron Maiden mascot, thanks to my boy hmmm. Still, Eddie is massively cute and he has a really nice temperament. We are having trouble feeding him at the moment (has refused for a week now) and I am hoping he is either going into a shed or maybe hibernating a little (do they even do this?!).

Anyway, I put an album up on my profile, so you can check him out. Seriously, I can see us owning a lot of reptiles in the future. Your list is incredible, I'm super jealous. What are the frogs and bearded dragons like to keep as pets? CAn you take them out much? (I'm probably asking a stupid question here, but seriously, I'm very new to all of this!).

On my wish list already is a GTP!!! And also a Black adn Gold Jungle Python, they are just stunning :)

I think the Gippslands and the Easterns are pretty similar in temperament, Gippies are maybe a little more flighty but the first baby I got let me hand feed him from day one so I guess it depends on the individual. I have noticed that females of all species seem a little shier/flightier than males. I am hoping that is an indication that I have a male and a female Gippsland. My sons Netteds were actually a gift from a member on this site, he had a little mini competition where you had to write a care sheet. It was great as my son had been wanting them for a good while and we had a spare enclosure but no cash to get a pair and he was going to have to wait until next season. Most of my herp collection is new, went a bit crazy this season, I had a variety before but had to sell them when I moved back from SA to Victoria in 2006.

Rindles- Congrats on you'r first snake :D
I've got a Stimmo that I got at the Reptile & Amphibian Expo in Feb that has only eaten a pinky since and we've tried alot of other things and times. I love Green Tree Frogs- I think everyone should have them. Also Beardies are one of the best pets to keep. I don't handle my frogs much but the dragons will sit on me for hours.

Kaotikjezta- The Netteds opportunity was the reason I joined this site but it was not long before my 21st and I got told I was too old. Bummer- I should have got one of the 3 kids I live with to jump on the computer and do the write up instead. But congrats to you and you'r kids! I will have them one day. One day I say.

Welchy94- I'm SO jealous of you'r 3 Diamonds. I want them so bad.

Hey Rhiannon you'r collection may be small but it's great ;)

Hey Zeke- Do you prefer the BHP or Woma or don't have a fav?
Love Medusa as a name :) And Lucifer! Haha.

Bigfella77- Do you have plans for breeding?

Snakes123- I had a gecko when I first started keeping frogs but he escaped and ran away :( But I'm getting more keen on keeping different assortments in the future. Have fun on you'r catching up journey

My son Oak already pretty much had everything prepared as he wanted them for his birthday and it was his 16th birthday the day after we picked them so it all worked out pretty awesomely. Oh, and they have names now, little one is Asterix and the big one is Obelix

Nah, no plans to breed anything, not yet anyway. Still only new to keeping reptiles and have a hell of a lot to learn before I go putting my reps through a breeding cycle. I think id crap myself if I found myself with a dozen hatchies that wont eat, think ill leave it to the pros for a few years at least.

hey taraleigh i cant choose between the 2.. they both have quirks about them so it is hard to choose hahah
