Your local supermarket or butcher. Most Coles and Woolworths/Safeways sell them. I'd wait until it's a bit bigger before you give it chicken necks.
Turkey mince is fine with the calcium supplement; if you do buy the pet chicken mince, you probably don't need to add the supplement as it has the bones minced in with it a I said before.

Thanks pinefamily great help

Tasman meats has chicken carcass's minced up into dog food $3 for 1.5kg but they don't always have it in stock

Hey i recently got a Pilbara red ackie who's about a month and a bit old, from my research i thought you should feed them everyday as much as they can eat? or am i wrong, he ate about 15 crickets plus some roaches today and yesterday

Well I'm feeding him 3-5 crickets plus mince and he's a few weeks old

Polystyrene around the tank will help keep the heat in. You can get creative and make some fake backgrounds and fit the foam inside the tank; this will keep the heat in better. There are plenty of threads in the DIY section on how to do it. You can pick up polystyrene from any electrical retailer, they are usually glad to get rid of it.

And for its first winter (in Melbourne), it won't hurt to use a night heat globe. A low wattage one just to keep the ambient temp up overnight will be fine; we used a purple one that has the least light so not to disturb the monitor.

Would a heat pad be fine for cold nights. Ps tomoz it's gonna get to 35 so leaving the light on all day is fine?

Monitors love it hot, but seeing as he's so young, it's not going to hurt to turn the heat off tomorrow. We usually turn off the heat for our snakes when it gets over 35, but leave the lizards.
And a heat pad should be fine to help keep the ambient temp up at night.

I think I'll leave it on, because it's only going to get to 35 at 2:00 so I'll be able to turn him off at 4:00 we'll also have blinds down etc. so the house will be roughly 28

Hey mate, I bought one too, and mine is absolutely smashing woodies like no tomorrow. He maybe just a bit unfamiliar with what's on offer. If he has good body mass don't stress just give it time.

Awwwwww cute

Thanks, he's a darling we just built him a tile stack which we'll put in next week

However we fed him a huge piece of pinkie (the back half) he gobbled that up and refused anymore so we tried to feed him the smorning and he refused any pinkie but literally pounced on the crickets when we put them in.

So any ideas why he refused the rest of the pinkie.

It might not help now but with the stack but build it so each area is like a triangle not a square. He will wedge into the smallest part rather than being out in the open in a square stack. I've posted a photo of mine so hopefully it makes sense.

Not my idea I got it off another forum. I had built one that has even spaces between the levels but my ackie didn't use it much. Once I built this one he was in it all the time.

HerpNthusiast, being only small, he will have to get used to the taste of a pinkie. The crickets are more of a natural prey.
Try cutting it while frozen; a lot less messy. ;) And seeing as you are cutting it, why get a fuzzy/velvet or even a weaner? Cutting one of them up will give your ackie more goodness.
