Hi, I've been looking on www.herpshop.com.au for a good, cheap heat lamp for my Baby Long-Necked Turtle, what would you recommend, a clear reflector globe (day/night cycle), an 'Aussie Sun' Infrared heat lamp, or a 'HS Economy' Dark globe?

If you want to have a look go to www.herpshop.com.au > click on 'lighting equipment' > scroll down.

Thanks,
Matt Elrick

Hi there. Ive owned turtles for yrs. Turtles NEED UV light, so make sure all the ones your looking at have UV ratings. Also id honestly get a tube not a globe as they could splash it and its harder to attatch. Just get a normal fluro fitting/reflector and purchase one of the UV fluro tubes, its ALOT easier. For heat just use an aquarium heater in the water.

for heat (not uv) I find cheap reflector spots (60w)in a desk lamp work fine, just a couple of $ from the hardware shop. I use blacklight tubes for UV (Nec).
