Hi!

Can anyone let me know their experiences of getting a custom background done for their enclosure? I.e. - how much did it cost, how long did it take, how easy was it to install?

Also can people please recommend somewhere?

I bought a rubber(latex?) rock background from majestic aquariums, can't remember how much it cost though... but the company who made them has moved overseas so last I heard theres very little stock spread around different aquariums.
Someone on this site makes fake backgrounds but I'm not sure who..

The one I used was fairly easy to install, just trimmed it to fit my enclosure and glued it into place with silicon.

I've attached a pic of it for you, best I have sorry

That'll be us....:lol::lol::lol:
Our rock walls come in a variety of colours and in three main styles, High Profile- basking shelves of 25 x 50 cm or
Low Profile - basking shelves of 12 x 25 cm or
Aztec Jungle Ruins - custom walls resembling ancient aztec jungle temple ruins with basking areas to any size

The High and Low Profile walls cost $195 per square metre where the Aztec Style is $350 per metre because of their detail.
All our Rock products are of a hard plastic resin that is very strong and has the colour and texture in the resin itself. They are not the old foam and render construction.

Special orders can be placed for something completely unique if you have a particular theme in mind.

back grounds will vary in cost greatly depending on size, detail and the moulding method. some charge far too much because they haven’t a clue on moulding things properly. although i have not seen any of the STEIN ENCLOSURES back ground i am VERY familiar with the process of making this sort of thing and from what i can tell they are up there in the worth the buy area. also there is Reptile inc. Welcome to Reptiles Inc! (formally Canberra Exotics) Because special animals need specialists! some of their range is not available but they are working on getting some new stuff in. but their listing will at least give you an idea on what could be achieved.

waaah cadwallader that background looks awsome. how does one achieve this with the foam?
