It’s best to let them settle in for at least a week before handling or feeding. Is there a hide rock for it? They definitely feel more secure that way.

We got one but being a small tank couldn't get it in as had doors of tried to move him / her ? And bit me drew blood . I just gave in and put doors back on and couldn't keep stressing it out trying to move him or her to put it in . Will get new large tank soon .

Howdy, I am currently looking after my daughter's juvenile Bredli x Jungle python while she is away. It's her first snake so we are learning together. It hasn't eaten since we've had it, so we are stressing a bit....It can be a bit nerve wracking hey. Apparently snakes can stress a bit and I have also heard that they should be given a few days to settle in. Other than that, I don't know too much, it's a bit of an education. A photo of Bandit. We still don't know the sex of the snake, will take it to the specialised vet when it's bigger. Welcome to the forum by the way from another newbie.

Hi, why are you handling it and taking it out of the enclosure before it`s had time to fully acclimate to that, let alone you, it can take weeks for them to settle in?
Can you show the current enclosure and give details of the conditions; ambient (air) and basking surface temps, humidity range and how you measure all those, plus type of heating/lighting?

Welcome to the forum, Allan. Congrats on your beautiful snake!

This Forum is a wealth of information and full of knowledgeable people ready to help or share their expertise. But I'm not one of these guys. Make a good browse around and/or ask away!

Hi, Allan. How is the snake settling in now? Not sure what your enclosure setup is like, but it will want a hide box in lieu of the hide rock you bought but can't use yet. Something that will give it a sense of security. This is especially important for when it goes into pre-slough, but it's best to have it available at all times, so the snake can choose when it wants to hide and when it wants to explore.

Hope you enjoy the forum.
