I found a tiny red bug thing in my 2 blue tongue's enclosure... it was about a milimetre long, red and i saw it running across the newspaper so i squashed it... would anyone happen to know what it was and if so, if it's a threat to blue tongues or bearded dragons...??

These mites are usually found on wild geckoes, dragons and monitors (lizards that dont have overlapping scales). They're not like the snake mites and dont seem to multiply and overpower their host. Occasionally you may find one on a "pit" reptile but like geckodan said, they're no concern and i just ignore them.

Sounds like a red spider mite. Unless you bluey sprouts leaves he should be fine.

As an adjunct to this. I was told that there is someone at the Queensland Museum who has a more than average interest and knowledge of mites. It could be useful if it is true.
