Just a quick question re snakes shedding in winter. My Inland Carpet has been looking like she has been in pre-shed mode for 4 weeks or so. Do snakes delay shedding during a period of brumation. She basically spends the whole time curled up but has eaten each 3 weeks or so.

Thanks for any informed comment.

During brumation their metabolism will slow donw which will extend a shed cycle, but also they usually have a hormonal "pre-ovulatory" shed coming into breeding season i would expect it to still be a bit early for that in MD's though

Thanks for that. I am not cooling over winter with the exception for the cool par of the enclosure being at ambient. Like the rest of the year the warm spot is at 32 during the day and 22 overnight. I have chaned the light dark cycle so the metabolic slowing may be the reason.
