Burrowing frog?

And now for something different.

Was scooping the sand out of the grates on the driveway today, (thank you, 50mm of rain) and found this little guy.
He was buried in the wet sand in the channel.
I tipped a small amount of rainwater on him for slightly better details, and released him near the small water garden.
Assuming its a burrowing frog, but know it isnt a crucifix frog.

It is a recent metamorph, as indicated by the fact that the tail has not been fully absorbed. Consequently, it does not seem to have yet attained its full adult colours.

For future reference: The colour and patterning of the thighs, armpits and belly can provide valuable information for identifying frog species, along with the degree of webbing between the fingers and between the toes. The eyes are also a useful diagnostic feature in a few.
