Hi i posted another thread with same topic but i got no answers so i will make a new one

Is it ok to keep knob tailed geckos with an infrared reptile heat bulb? i recently got a trio of banded knob tailed geckos (nephrurus wheeleri) and have a red heat globe in their tank day and night. is that ok is it to bright for them can they see red? thanks

I can't imagine it would be a problem since theyre nocturnal anyway so it wouldn't disturb their sleep. I have a red night light giving a slight glow to my gecko room, just so there's a bit of light since I use cords for heating. Globes are really expensive to use as heating,..mine used to blow all the time.

Yes they can see red light. No it isn't an issue because it is not a bright as the full spectrum so is reduced light like night time.
