cheap heat globes off e-bay?

The pet shops charge anywhere from $45 to $130 for the ceramic heat globes. I have seen them on e-bay for $21.

Just wanting to know if anyone has tried them and can advise if they are just as good as the expencive pet shop ones? Or is it a case of "you get what you pay for and dont touch them"?

It depends on the brand really, I bought some from the UK and they worked out to about $11 each and they were Pearlco who have been making them for about 30 odd years. There are some currently on Ebay for $17.00, not branded but are quite probably made in the same Chinese factory as the expensive pet shop ones.

I bought a $20 one of ebay four years ago and it is still going strong.

for the monitors and dragons i just buy 50 or 75 watt wide beam flood lights from coles 3 dollars each and work great

Yeah i've got one of the $20 odd dollar ones off ebay, not branded or anything, but works great and no problems with it.
