Hello!

I got my first snake about a 1.5 weeks ago, a baby corn snake. I am trying my best to do everything correctly but I’m not sure how it’s going. She has had her first feed with me and it went well. But I haven’t been able to handle her so far and Im scared I’m stressing her out/making this more difficult.
She hides most of the time and roams at night which I know is normal but whenever I go to handle her at night she goes straight back into one of her hides And during the day I can’t get her out of the hide (it’s a hollowed out log).
Due to this being my first snake I am nervous about picking her up and especially she’s tried to strike twice (even though I know it won’t hurt).
Any advice would be appreciated.

Questions would love to have an opinion on:
Should I buy a different hide so that I can have easy access to her?
Would a hook help with handling?

Much Appreciated!

I don't know the answer to your questions, but I do wonder how it's doing now?
