I came across this little guy today, quite stinky but very cute.

It was just under a rock, there was quite an ants nest in there, I assume he had been feasting.

Why are they stinky?

They release a pretty foul odur, i assume to deter predators. They also have this really cute spike on their tale that they try to poke you with.

We had one in our house Sunday night after the huge storms that passed through. Not sure how he got in yet.

Was it on the David Attenborough series 'Life in Cold Blood' that there was footage of these guys eating ant's eggs? They look hilarious when they eat - like a mini sock puppet swallowing jellybeans LOL.

nice shots, YUK! I hate blind snakes, nearly as much as I hate eastern small eyed snakes they are so common, so boring, so smelly and so crap looking!

Why would you want to? It's like having a worm farm- a patch of dirt. You wouldn't see them or anything.

lol only way I would keep them is if I had a bandy bandy, that is all they are good for, same with small eyed snakes (could feed small eyeds to bigger elapids) :lol:
