I own a male yearling stimsons python and today I noticed some discolouration on the tip of his tail that I swear wasn't there a few days ago. It's most obvious on the underside but the scales on the upper side seem a little darker too. It seems a little early to be shed related since he last shed on the 21st of November and according to his records he tends to shed every 50 days give or take. It also doesn't seem to match the symptoms of scale rot since the rest of his belly is nice and clean and pearly and the top centimetre of his substrate is dry to the touch. Is this something sinister?
