Hi, I am heading up to Gympie for christmas and was wondering would any one like to show me around a few herp spots while I am there.
I will be staying down Sandy creek. I should have access to a car which can make getting around a bit eazier.
Thanks in advance.

The great sandy national park is good for monitors and agamids (near rainbow beach about 40mins drive from Gympie). frill necks are fairly common in bush land around Gympie ( I've found a few on fence posts surounding farmland) Just south of Gympie in suitable habitat I've found southern angle headed dragons. If you stop by rainbow beach, there's nice bush land around Carlo sand blow where I've found carpets, small eyed snakes, lace monitors and a bandy bandy. Head out early morning or just before dusk as it gets fairly hot in Gympie this time of year and most species are hiding out in the shade and harder to spot. Lived in tin can bay/rainbow beach for a few years and is a Great spot for herping in my opinion, cheers.

Thanks Doc, I have been up there a couple of times but only walked around the parent in-laws farm which is good for a few critters.
Thanks for the detail and locations on where and what i can find.
Cheers
