Hello Herps I am after advice on if I should try heat bulbs I have always used ceramic heat emitters for all my tanks snakes skinks monitors dragons everything except geckos I just use surface heat for geckos

I don’t really understand bulbs as I never used them just uv as my tanks are like sets of 4 so I don’t have access to the floors so I can’t use heat mats it’s not a option

Is their any reason I should use bulbs instead I have always used ceremics on thermostat but I was told by someone bulbs are better please help I am stuck on this

Hey Jack, I am the opposite. I use heat lamps for everything. Snakes, dragons, monitors, skinks, the only CHE 's I have are for night heat for my frillies in winter.
Heat lamps provide visible light which added to the UV lamps provide a bright daylight environment.
I am not saying you are wrong, each to their own but this is my way and I have been doing it successfully for over 20 years
