My husband recently brought home a red eared slider turtle. We live in South Florida, and have a large pond in the backyard, so we put her in it. Today she is the swimming pool and I am concerned. I put a trellis over the steps to the edge so she can get out, but I am wondering if the chlorine will adversely affect her. Any thoughts anyone?

I doubt the chlorine would be good for her health, particularly considering the high concentrations normally in swimming pools. I'd strongly suggest getting her out ASAP and getting her into fresh dechlorinated water. If you want to keep her in the pond, you'll need to enclose it (both keeps predators out and stops her from wandering). Depending on her size you could keep her in a temporary tub until the pond is secured for her (i.e. if a hatchy/juvenile)
