Hi all,

I'm doing a herp project in SA and I'm looking for keen volunteers. Looking mostly at elapid snakes so some ability to handle vens would be preferred but not essential, as a minimum you need to at least be able shout "SNAKE!!!" though.

Work would include helping with active field searches, digging and setting up pitfall traps, checking traps, etc. A half decent level of fitness would be needed (for digging and some walking on rough terrain). Work will be carried out around Lake Alexandrina, Mount Lofty ranges, Yorke and Eyre Peninsulas.

This project is being carried out through a tertiary institution and is being carried out under a scientific research permit. Volunteers would need to be self insured and the usual signing of permission forms, waivers, etc. will apply. No one with previous charges for wildlife and animal crimes will be accepted.

If you're keen and would like more info, drop me a PM.

Cheers,

Mike
